Purr-Events

Halloween and National Cat Purrty. Halloween is a celebration of cats, especially black cats. How cats now play a major role in Animal-Assisted Therapy. An animal shelter introduces a golden-years volunteer as a daily napster with the cats. Stray cats in Delaware are now protected by Animal Cruelty Laws.

I will be there with Orion’s robotic cats. What a Fun Time!

Halloween, And Black Cats Are Forever Beautiful
Halloween is always the ideal day to celebrate our relationship with our cats, especially the safety and acceptance of black cats who have had a perilously wrong association with bad luck and evil. My Orion obliterates this fallacious, erroneous belief with his acceptance and companionship of his black, robotic cat — Ziggy-Star-Dust — named after my late companion who was a recovering feral cat.

Orion, seen here with robotic Ziggy-Star-Dust, coaches and gives a shout-out for black cats.

I’m reminded of Xena and Des, two black cats I treated several years ago. Des was Xena’s prescription for her aggressive behavior with her guardian which was triggered by the single cat syndrome. All went well until there was sleep deprivation and destruction derby behavior (Scroll down to I Don’t Want To Give Des Away). They’ve partnered now for seven years and with a tune-up session to ease a possible seven-year itch, they will be life partners.

Therapy Cats

“I was released from the hospital yesterday where I had one of my arms amputated. Now I’m home and wonder if you could provide a visitation of a therapy cat. The hospital’s therapy dog was a pleasure, but I’m an over the top cat lover.”

I recommended that this caller should network with some rescue groups in her area, and as Animal-Assisted Therapy Thrives, Enter The Cats.
