Hamlet’s Hamlet ..
(Feline Greeter 24×7 at The Algonquin Hotel) ….

“I’ve seen you with Hamlet before?” said the guest. “He really lets it rip with you. The desk told me some rescuers found him on the street, and he was later moved to a shelter before he moved here.”
“Yes, that was almost two years ago,” I said.
“So what’s your connection?” said the guest.
As Hamlet worked out, I told the guest how I was The Cat Therapist and helped with his transition to the Algonquin — from street cat to “Feline Greeter”.

“Does Hamlet still need therapy?”
“He’s a working cat — a 24/7 gig — ” I said. “ These sessions are tune-ups — a legacy from Matilda, his predecessor. I used to give her Reiki treatments.

Matilda was Hamlet’s predecessor

“Really! Oh I get it. The Algonquin totally cares about their staff’s well-being, cats included. Hamlet’s really rocking today, fascinated by his toys. Tell me more.”

I fired away as I shouted, “Play ball,” to Hamlet who was zoned in on his game.
