A Surprise Birthday Card for Orion’s Alleged 13th ..
Orion’s card is from Chewy— his mainline for his lifeline to his food. He gives a heartfelt shout-out to all the family of workers at Chewy. Not only do they support his nutrition, they are woke to his total wellness nutrition of mind, body and spirit.
(When Dr. Paul Rowan and I co-owned The Cat Practice, 1973-78, the resident cat/s sent a card to every patient—a token of our holistic or integrated approach —to treat The Total Cat.)

Orion’s Cat Faves — What Sparks Their Particular Bliss
Stress Deletion
Miss Precious and Kingsley are two fourteen-year-old cat mates whose catalyst for bliss is a taste or two of catnip.
A Reiki treatment is also a catalyst to Kingsley’s and Miss Precious’ bliss. I recently did a distant Reiki session to increase their stress tolerance and to add another source of bliss and sent an email to their veterinarian, Dr. Jaime Napolitano at Westside Veterinary Center.
A Snooze Refreser
A tucked away snooze spot provides uninterrupted bliss for Eli. He’s the mentor and protector of Joey, his younger bro and introduced Joey to videos – a shared blisser.
Culture Shock— A Game Changer
When Sally’s parents passed on, their aggressive and wary, seven-year-old cat, Bruno, moved in with her. His reaction to the culture shock of a new apartment and person was uncanny. Bruno hung out with Sally, slept with her and even stretched out on her lap. During his ‘settling in’ session, Bruno welcomed the nip and red mouse I gifted. As he sometimes became over-stimulated and would react with a hiss or outstretched paw, I coached Sally to stop petting him before he became excited. Visitors could accept Bruno’s interactions but hands off. Best to allow him to be the decider. So far Bruno was totally on his game with a blissful transformation.
Canine Bliss for Cleo
Cleo had lived with another cat before Kathy adopted her. That was five years ago. Now she was seven.
When Kathy brought home Jackson, a young dog, she wasn’t sure what Cleo’s reaction would be. Evidently, Cleo was not feline-companion specific. She scampered up to him, they exchanged sniffs and with some correctional input on Kathy’s part their forever relationship is now history. October’s Blog will reveal why Jackson sometimes disses Cleo and what to do.
