Loss To Renal Complications — Adoption Of A New Cat

Loss of Neptune, choice and integration of new cat — pandemic feline heroes.

Neptune succumbs

Neptune Succumbs To Renal Complications
(Choice of New Cat, Integration, Pandemic Feline Heroine)
“Carole, My 18 year old Neptune is gone. It was renal complications. Neptune was my muse, my pandemic hero. His last few years as my only cat revealed a totally different Neptune, so unlike the Neptune who nurtured his late cat-mates and allowed them to be front and center. He reinvented himself, When I do adopt another rescue, I may want a Neptune look-alike. I’ll be in touch so you can guide me,” said Eve.

Does Neptune Need A Companion?
When Neptune’s cat-mate passed on a few years ago, Eve consulted me about the adoption of a companion for Neptune. I advised her to wait awhile to see how he reacted and that would be her best answer. So she did. Neptune became her one and only cat, and she was delighted to give him whatever he wanted.

Eve’s Text A Week Later:
“You mentioned an older cat who prefers to be the only cat can be harder to find a home for, so that’s whom I’ll adopt. Any leads?”
I recommended that she contact the Humane Society of New York, to keep me posted and I’d give her some more leads if needed.

Fantasia Moves In And Rocks With Nip
“I went and did it. She’s a seven year old tortie from the Humane Society of New York. She had two previous homes where she was bullied by the other cats. This will be her forever home.
As she’s kept her distance and hung in the bedroom closet, I sprinkled the Catnip Garden you gave me on some tissue paper. I woke up in the wee hours to the sounds of her rolling about and playing with the nip. She even brushed by me this morning but soon made her way to the closet. So please schedule a FaceTime consult so we can hang together.”

Fantasia moves in

FaceTime With Reiki — Fantasia Out Of The Closet
“Ok Eve,” I said, “while Fantasia’s in the closet, you stretch out on your bed and chill while I do a distant Reiki treatment.”
As I ended the treatment of the mental symbols, Fantasia made her way slowly from the closet, across the room and jumped on to Eve’s bed. I told her to give Fantasia a few strokes and stop. Next, Fantasia moved to settle in her carrier.

Chill time can be carrier time

Carrier Comfort
“Why is it that Fantasia went in to her carrier? Isn’t that unusual?”
“Not for some cats,” I said. “Let’s say it’s a new normal for you. Cats like small spaces, makes them feel secure, and the carrier brought her to you. The carrier has become a security spot for Fantasia.”

Fantasia Kneads On FaceTime During Reiki
Eve decided to schedule another session for a follow up with Fantasia’s integration. As I finished her distant Reiki treatment, Fantasia jumped up on Eve’s lap and began to knead.
“OMG, now I know she’s even more at home,” said Eve.

A Perfect Repeat — Only Twelve Days Timeline
“Carole, take a look at my Fantasia as she kneads away, and let me thank you for your support and guidance. Fantasia’s my pandemic heroine. It’s only been 12 days, and she’s made it clear that she’s happy — me too.”
I smiled as I watched the video. A happy cat makes me a very
happy Carole.
