Behavior That’s Spiteful

  • Q  Sometimes I think my cats do things for spite. What do you think about this?
  • A   If they’re acting purely out of spite, you must be doing something that’s making them anxious or uncomfortable.  If you think about this for awhile, you’ll probably realize what it is you’re doing that frustrates them.  However, their problem may be medical, and their way of communicating it to you can only be done in a negative manner to attract your attention.


Allergic Boyfriend

  • Q   My boyfriend is allergic to my six-year-old cats. What should I do?
  • A   You could always find another boyfriend.  If not, there are injections that he could receive.  Sometimes a chiropractor can be helpful.  Many times, if a person is determined, he can overcome his allergy.


Hotel Travel

  • Q   Do you have any recommendations for hotel travel with my cat?
  • A   Put up your Do Not Disturb sign whenever you leave your room.  Inform the maid that your cat is along and ask her not to leave the door to your room open when she cleans.  Be sure to leave the room in tip-top shape for the next cat.
