“Hamlet was the inspiration for our family cat,” said one of the hotel guests. “When our five year old saw Hamlet’s photos, he wanted him. I had to explain that he lived at the Algonquin and he was a working cat.”

The guest went on to say that every day his son still asked for Hamlet. Finally, we went to a nearby shelter and adopted an orange tabby who resembles Hamlet.
