12 Year Old Maisie And The New Kitten (Mar2024)

With the right intro a golden years cat will accept a new kitten.

12 Year Old Maisie Gives Nurture Nod To New Kitten —
“Carole, Maisie allowed Ollie, the newbie, to sleep beside her yesterday,” said Jane. “It’s only been eight days since we followed your intro.”
(A Kitten Introduction The Wilbourn Way) ….

Ollie sleeps beside Maisie — a breakthrough

That was my first message after Ollie, a fourteen week old, very playful kitten, was introduced into Maisie’s cat-dom.

Message 2
“Ollie vomited up his food, any suggestions?”
I told Jane to wait a few hours before his next meal so his stomach settles down. It’s been major culture shock for this little guy.

Message 3
“We wanted to drive to our place in the country this weekend. Maisie loves it there. Would it be too dramatic a change for Ollie? We thought you could arrange a home visit to evaluate and advise.”
And so I did.

You’re Good To Go
During their session we doted on Maisie, and so did Ollie.
We gave Maisie some wind-down time with her fave toys and nip, while Ollie pranced and played in another room.

“You’re good to go to the country this weekend,” I said.

Message 4
As you instructed, we fed them a few hours before we traveled. They each had their separate carriers and we played their music in the car. When we arrived, we started Ollie off in a separate room with all of his comforts. So far, all is well.

Another breakthrough — Ollie hangs out next to Maisie in their country plac

And so it is, I said to myself as I downloaded their photos. Looks like Maisie’s given her nurture nod to Ollie as she has to the rest of her family.(Scroll down to Will Maisie Accept A New Companion?)
