Cat Behavior Questions
* Cat’s Self-Esteem  * Tail Chaser and Biter  * Sleep on my Pillow  * Which Sex More Affectionate? ….

Q Does a cat have self-esteem?
A Yes, like a person who develops self-esteem from infancy right on through childhood and adolescence, a cat develops self-esteem from kittenhood onward. A fulfilling relationship with the mother cat is a plus for good self-esteem.

Q Why does my cat sometimes chase his tail and start to bite at himself?
A Your cat may be telling you that his anal glands are full and have to be emptied by his veterinarian. It might even be a minor convulsion. Such symptoms are usually triggered by stress. It is essential to treat the symptom both medically and emotionally so your cat’s behavior will become well integrated.

Q Why does our cat sleep between us?  I’d like him to sleep on my pillow or in my arms.
A He may feel protected in the space between the two of you.  It might also be a slight fear of intimacy.  However, never fear, in time he may decide to fulfill your wish.

Q Are male cats more affectionate than females?
A There is no hard-and-set generalization. It simply depends upon which sex you relate to better and on each individual cat.
